This is a very good product. Easy to install. I researched this type of product on the web and decided that the CURT was the best for my purposes.
Ordered and installed this on a 2010 Toyota Tacoma, this is the wiring connector kit recommended by Valley for this specific vehicle.This is a plug and play product.The T connectors worked perfectly with the connectors used by Toyota on the rear lights.Steps: 1. Undo top and bottom bolts inside the tailgate, the ones with no washer.2. The tail light is now loose, but still connected with 2 straight push-in plastic pins.Pull the light straight back to unclick the two pins and the light is loose in your hands, but still connected to the wiring.3. Use a small screw driver to press the tab on the existing connector down and separate the connector pieces.4. Click the existing wiring connector to the new wiring connectors. 5. On the driver's side tail-light, there is an additional ground wire that needs to be screwed into the sheet metal behind the light. If you confuse this and put the ground wire on the passenger side, then your blinkers will be reversed on the trailer;so be sure to put the ground wire on the driver's side.6. Tuck all wires behind the tail-light and line up the pins and push the tail-light back into "click" position 7. Insert the bolts removed step 1 and re-tighten.8.Get under truck and cable-tie loose wires up to the frame or other existing wires for support.9. Stick the modulator box to inside of bumper with double stick tape provided but be sure to cable tie it in place as well in case the double stick comes loose.Done - in maybe 20 minutes.Note: I also used some split cable tubing I had to protect the wiring around the metal edge as it comes out of the bottom of the tail-light area.
Unfortunately, we have had to use the Trailer Aid several times.In all cases we were able to change our trailer tires without having to unload our horses on a busy interstate.It's a must have.
I purchased this hitch to put on my 2003 Honda Rincon 650.I needed to hitch up a large utility dumping trailor to do some landcape work on my property.Only issue I had was that the hitch pin that cam with the trailor was too large for the single pin hole, and obveously the ball slot was way too big.The fix was to use a galvenized bolt left over from my chainlink project.Worked in a pinch and luckily it didn't even as much as scratch the hitch. I'll take the time to modify the plate when I have access to a drill press, but that won't be a huge deal.If you want a perfect fit for your quad, hardware included, this will work.
Hidden Hitch 87479 Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch - 2003 Honda Odyssey:I was told by my cousin, who installs dozen of trailer hitches, that he most often selects Hidden Hitches.I went with this one and am very happy that I did.It was very easy to install since Honda planned ahead for these and has bolt receiving holes in the frame, just waiting for a hitch receiver to come along!This hitch fits very snug up under the bumper, as you'd expect.You will need a universal joint with extension on a bolt or two to get around the muffler but the other ones are simple.I used a small car jack to hold it up in place on one end while I bolted other...but a good friend or a strong son could do that too. (I bought from [...] for $170 w/ no s/h fee).That site also has very helpful video to show you how to install the wiring harnass.
This product works pretty well.Nitpicks would be that the LEDs are not very bright for use during daylight and that it wasn't seen as a connected 'trailer' by my Tekonsha P3 Brake Control for Ford Vehicles (1994 and up).
Easy installation on a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon. It is the stock muffler which is still rather large with a large outlet and the hitch cleared it with no problem. The appearance is mostly hidden and clean.
Product is well made and well finished. Reasonably easy to install. Did it by myself, but would recommend two people because of the weight - would have been simple then. On a 2009 Hyundai Sante Fe did not have to make any adjustments to heat shield or other to complete install. 4-bolts is all it takes.If you can hold a wrench, you can do this. Saved a bunch vs going to dealership or other retailer.
There is a little bit of play/extra space, but it works as well as any non-custom machined part.
I have been concerned, because when I mounted my scooter on the back of my 4Runner with my Versa Haul rear rack you can't see the license plate (or at least not easily).This holder completely takes the worry away.I would have rated it a 5, but I think it is a little bit heavy.

Upgraded from filament bulb (1057) to this for durability and longer bulb life (essentially lifetime).The LEDs do make for a brighter display, but I do not think the quantity and layout is very good in that the output is not equally visible from all typical angles.I was very annoyed that the lens was badly scratched "INSIDE" the unopened package. However, the company offered a significant rebate for keeping it. I polished it out with a Lexan headlight kit and it's better.
I've bought this product to save me the time and money and I ended up losing money.
The item purchased, a Curt Manufacturing hitch shank #17100, was not the hitch shank that I received.Amazon customer service was unable to determine if I exchanged the shank if the next one would be any different ao I decided to return it for a refund.On the possitive side Amazon paid for the return shipping and promptly refunded my money.
This product is great. After slight mods to my bumper it looked like it was factory installed.
I had trouble finding the right lock to fit on my hitch to secure the Hensley Arrow -- this worked perfectly.
First one from an Amazon seller did not come packaged nor did it have any mounting hardware at all - just the receiver. Amazon was very fast at issuing a return authorization and I got it sent back.
It claimed to fit the application for a 1998 Ford Ranger like mine.Unfortunately, there was no way to make it fit.I returned it.I ended up with a regular bolt on hitch, which wasn't much more expensive, and relatively easy to install.
I bought this hitch because I got tired of changing balls on my hitch when I went from my boat to the trailer.This seemed like the perfect solution, until I went to use the 2" ball.The hole for the receiver pin is placed too far back on the shaft so I can not use the two inch ball of this hitch.

The first time we used this, we spent about thirty minutes getting it on, and half a day getting it off!First, the key inserts very roughly in the lock, so it's difficult to tell if it's all the way in or not.After many tries, we finally got the key to work.Second, getting the parts to fit the first time is awkward, and difficult, and forced us to lay on our side trying to get the pieces to line up correctly.The good news is that once installed, it looks like it will be a real deterrent and should work fine.But it's not quick to put on or take off.Overall, I would rate this about a 3 - it does a good job, but what a difficult tool to use!
This is a perfect gife to give a person who loves the Cubs and a die hard fan like my father.The only thing it didnt have and should is a bolt or soemthing to keep the hitch on... we had to hunt around for something to keep the hitch on my dad's truck...
Purchased this over the internet at a cost of 29.95+shipping of 7.00.Went to Campingworld shopping and saw similiar product in stock for 19.95.Could have saved 17.00.Be sure and shop around.
We have been very pleased with this hitch lock. My only complaint, and the reason for knocking off one star, is that the dust cover over the key socket fell apart the first or second trip. Either put something on there that is going to last or don't bother putting anything on there at all. Not a big deal. The unit is solid and easy to use.
Jack operates OK but is still too long when wound all the way up.The trailer has to be lifted for the jack to be tilted.Good jack just needa a shorter length.
I have two trailers with different sized hitches, and I needed a way to easily switch between them; this was my solution. The hitch works great, but popping the tops off is not as trivial as it seems from the instructions. After the ball has been on for a while, you'll likely need a screwdriver or prying device to pop the center lock tab up. Good device, just could be designed a bit better for unassisted use.
I bought this from my dealer with my new Pilot Touring, but ended up returning it and getting the Thule roof mount system.I thought that this would allow you to load up two bikes and then swing them out of the way to access the hatch.It doesn't you must remove the bikes from the rack and - only after removing the bikes - it allows you to pivot the rack downwards towards the ground to access the hatch.It is actually easier - once the bikes are removed - to just pull it out of the hitch receiver and remove the rack than it is to pull the pin and pivot the whole thing down.
I've owned a pair of Hitchin' Rods for several years and wouldn't be without them. They're especially useful if you travel solo. The only 'con' I've experienced is that one of the magnets fell out and was lost. I contacted the company for a replacement ($9, which would have been free if the loss had occured within the one year warranty period) and received it two days after ordering. I recommend that purchasers superglue the magnets in place before using.
I've got a Jayco Kiwi 18F hybrid camper that rides pretty low - we got a newer Ford Explorer and the Curt round bar weight distribution hitch was too high.... this bar give you 8½ inches of drop (I need about 7 or 8).It is a solid bar of steel but Amazon had Free Super Saver Shipping!!!! This hitch looks great on my 2007 RAV 4 Sport, positions just the right height for my trailers. It's a strong clean design that should last as long as my vehicle.
Very easy to install on my 2006 Dodge Ram. Just plug it in, mount to the dash and you're ready to go. Set-up for braking force and rate at which brakes come on is a snap. The only complaint I have is that is wasn't abundantly clear whether you need the adapter to connect it to my specific vehicle which was not necessary. I purchased the adapter and had to return it even after reading the manufacturers website. Other than than it's great!
I don't feel it is safe carrying two bikes on this product.It is too flimsy for regular sized bikes. Perhaps it would O.K. for ultralight racing bikes, but that's not the kind I ride any longer.Perhaps the manufacturer should note a weight limit.This is one of the few times I feel I have made a mistake by buying on line through Amazon.It was a total waste of money.
I purchased this hitch for my '02 Dodge Dakota.The install time is 25 minutes, and I believe this to be true.However, it took my much longer as one of the six bolts I had to remove was frozen and I had to spend time cutting it off (not a fault with the hitch at all).Install was very straight forward and I didn't even have to jack up the rear of my truck.I installed it by myself (with two jack stands supporting the hitch), but it's probably easier (and quicker) with a second person.
I have the Reese.The thing needed to be welded off.I got the masterlock on there now.It has a plastic cover to protect the barrel, and I had no problem.No more emarrasment when you pull up at U-Haul.Get the MASTERLOCK.
Now I can lock it up when trailer is in a storage and when I am towing. Much better than the pin.
If you have an adjustable ball mount, this one will lock it on your truck. It really is too long for a standard square type of adjustable mount. This one was designed for a spcific type that is much wider than the square type. I cut its length and drilled in another hole for the locking pin. That took all of 5 minutes. It turns out the standard length locks are only about 3/4" too short. This one will work for you if you are like me and hate having to take off your ball mount to keep folks from stealing it. I like the locking mechanism too. Different than most and you don't have to keep the key in it after you unlock it.
Great looking trailer hitch cover. I love being able to show-off my Husky pride this way. Keep in mind you will need to purchase a separate hitch lock unless you are not worried about anyone stealing the cover, or your trailer pin for that matter.
Had to return the first hitch sent as it was warped enough to not fit the bolt hole pattern.The second hitch had to be persuaded to fit.Can't complain too much for $120 delivered.
Who doesn't need a hitch pin!Not sure how you tell the difference from one to the other, but you can't go wrong getting one of these if you're buying a hitch!The pin looks well manufactured and should last, but time will tell if it rusts or not!
Well made with gloss black finish.I took my time and double checked everything as I installed.I installed it myself in just under an hour.Instructions are spot on and it looks great on my 2003 CRV.There's no need to go with a 1 1/4" hitch when you can get this one for not much more.
The price was terrific. It worked just as it was supposed to. Delivery was fast.
This rack is sturdy and easy to install. It carries my 16 ft canoe on my Explorer Sportrac with ease. My only gripe is that Thule uses a bolt with nut welded in the hole that fixes the hitch to the receiver. I prefer a plain hole so that I can put my locking mechanism in it. However, it is fairly easy to drill out the nut and use the lock instead.
This step is just what I was looking for in a van step.Very heavy duty and slip resistant.
The Breakaway Switch worked just fine. I used it as a replacement for the Brake Buddy switch.

This prevents your bike from swaying while attached to your Thule Hitch Mount Bike Rack.I'm sure you can easily tie your bike stable without it, but if you use multiple bikes on one rack, this keeps them from swaying into each other.I am happy with the purchase, the build quality and the price.
