Curt Manufacturing 51110 Venturer Brake Control Review

The wiring was very simple (if you're familiar with vehicle wiring) and it was a pretty good price.However, timed control of trailer brakes is an absolutely terrible idea.I made one trip with my camper and I'm taking this thing back.No matter how hard/light you press your brake pedal, this thing will ramp up brake output to the max in the same allotted time.You can adjust the max output power and how fast it ramps up, but this is not acceptable.You need a brake controller to stop you and your trailer on a dime at the most necessary time.With this controller setup to do that properly, it will stop you on a dime.... every time.You can't feather your brake pedal or anything.I don't know what application this controller was intended for, but operating trailer brakes is not its specialty.
