This is a good (and cheap) alternative to OEM hitch. It "kind of functions" as advertised. The powder coating on the hitch is BAD so it might not be suitable for folks in rust belt. I bought it from Amazon but it was NOT PACKED at all. It had lot of scratches. When the UPS guy walked on the driveway with bare hitch in his hand I was like "what happened to packing" and he said this is it...he too was surprised. The UPS label was put directly on the hitch.
When the UPS label was taken out the powder coat paint came out with the label glue-exposing bare metal. If I was not in CA I would have returned the hitch for the fear of it being rusted.
Took me about an hour to install in 2008 Acura MDX.
All in all after a week and two uses I wish I had gone with OEM hitch. The money saved was not worth it. Hope the black paint will stay.
