As of this writing, what is pictured here is NOT 24616. The hitch for the Accord has a notch in the cross bar to fit around the underside of the muffler housing. However the PDF instructions in this listing ARE for the 24616. So please look at those until someone gets their act together and gets the correct photo.I shopped this for weeks. When I found the least expensive price AND free shipping I bought it from a company in Kansas. No muss, no fuss. It was here via Ground service in a matter of days, just as they promised.
Having read other reviews, I was very prepared for installation.
The torque wrench was handy, I had some plastic to toss down on the ground, and some landscaping bricks. The two tie-downs on the frame come off with ease. Use the bricks to set the hitch on in order to elevate it up to the frame rails. Get the four bolts into the two sides of the frame rails, secure the nuts on the ubolt and torque everything down. Very simple stuff. Took me about 45 minutes.
Can barely see the thing under the rear bumper and I'm looking forward to toting my bike everywhere. Good solution for this car for this need.
